Topic: Chronic Disorganization and screening of documentary about compulsive hoarders.
Description: Janice Russell, designated Master Trainer in Chronic Disorganization and Organization by the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization, explores organization versus chronic disorganization. She will introduce the Clutter Hoarding Scale, which can help determine the level of organizing challenges that a client faces. Attendees will view a documentary entitled Stuffed, in which filmmakers Cerissa Tanner and Arwen Curry journey into the crowded apartments of compulsive hoarders and hear their stories. With fascinating archival footage from a 1947 newsreel, they look to the famous case of the Collyer brothers in New York, and visit with neuroscientists who explain the emerging science behind our attachment to our possessions. Janice will facilitate a discussion regarding this documentary.
