Organize one step (or room...or pile) at a time. Don't let yourself wander off-course when organizing. Identify your top priority (ex: bedroom) and don't let yourself change course, even if you discover an area nearby (such as your bathroom) that also needs work. It is easy to start in one area and get stuck working on another. Keep a basket in your target space and use it to contain items that need to be taken out of the room. This way, you only make one trip at the end to place these items where they belong, and you don't run the risk of being taken off-course during multiple trips in and out of your target area.

Letter from the President

Hello and welcome to the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of
Professional Organizers’ (NAPO) website.

If you’re looking for a professional organizer in North Carolina, this website will help you
find organizers who provide the services you need. You can also learn more about the organizing industry and NAPO-NC.

Our members work with business and residential clients. Their services range from
home and business organizing, to information and time management, to coaching
and training. Professional organizers bring more to their jobs than just organizing skills
and talents; many have a wealth of experience in complementary fields, such as
psychology, social work, teaching, household management and interior design.

If you’re considering a career as a professional organizer in North Carolina, I urge you
to explore this website for information about the chapter, upcoming meetings and
events and access to organizing products. NAPO-NC offers the most vibrant and
varied opportunities for professional development and career growth available in our
field. Monthly meetings (formal and informal), lectures, annual regional and national
conferences, networking, newsletters, and volunteer positions assist chapter
members learn what they need to know to succeed as professional organizers.
We work together in an environment of cooperation, not competition.

The North Carolina Chapter became a NAPO Charter Chapter in September 2003 and currently has more than 30 members. The NAPO Code of Ethics binds all of our
members. To read the Code of Ethics visit www.napo.net

NAPO-NC is truly an extension of NAPO (our parent organization), fostering NAPO’s
warmth and support with our own culture of dedication to each other, our clients and our communities. Your participation will help us become the best chapter in the country.
Come get involved in the areas that interest you most: programming, marketing, membership, community service, etc. We would love to hear your ideas.
